Each week of the spring and fall seasons, one player who was originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.

Last Week:
• FAMU’s winning streak reached 10 matches with Koleva running the 5-1 offense. The Rattlers are 9-0 in the Southwestern Conference.
• Koleva led FAMU to 3-0 sweeps of Alcorn State, Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern. The Rattlers are 17-5 in all matches this season.
• Koleva has been named the SWAC’s Setter of the Week four times this year. FAMU has lost only two sets in its nine league matches.
• The Rattlers are aiming to return to the NCAA tournament for the third time in four years. The SWAC champion earns an automatic bid.
• Koleva transferred to FAMU after her sophomore year at Miami Dade College. She led the Sharks to second place at the 2022 NJCAA finals.
• At age 16 Koleva began competing in Bulgaria’s top women’s league. She played also for Bulgaria’s youth and junior national teams.
• Koleva’s father, Radko Kolev, had a 15-year professional career as a middle blocker and opposite in Europe, Asia and North Africa.
