Each week of the spring and fall seasons, one player who was originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.

Nov. 25, 2024: Karlotta Kattai

Last Week’s Action:

• Kattai led Colby to third place at the NJCAA Championship finals. She lifted the Trojans this fall to their best season in the team’s history.
• From the opening week of the season through the finals, Kattai ranked as the nation’s top freshman passer-hitter among junior colleges.
• At the finals in Tennessee, Colby swept Blinn and Northeastern before a semifinal loss to eventual champion Florida SouthWestern 3-0.
• In the third place match Kattai scored 17 kills to lead Colby over local Kansas rival Barton Community College 3-1.
• Kattai led all NJCAA freshmen this year in points per set, posting a 4.7 rate and ranking third among all players. She hit at .206 efficiency.
• Colby ended the season with a 29-5 record, 14-2 in the Kansas Jayhawk Conference. Kattai was the league’s Freshman of the Year.
• In Estonia, Kattai has competed for the national team at the women’s and junior levels. As a beach player she led Estonia’s junior rankings.
• Kattai trained daily as a student-athlete at Audentes Sport School, a boarding school in Tallinn for athletes from throughout Estonia.
